Fishing Report

Well the water has been running again for the past five days or so, but at least the silver lining is that we didn’t get as much precipitation as was previously predicted. Most fisherman are intimidated by higher water, but let me assure everyone that lots of fish are being caught with larger fish presenting opportunities near the shoreline. Fishing is always good in a boat during high water for those who want to get their boat out on the water. Along the bank we have been fishing several combinations including ice shrimp, chamois worms, scuds, zebras, and sculpins. The fish are still hitting egg patterns with them being just recently post spawn. In some slower pools I’ve also had luck on a few larger dry flies like a tarantula or a big ugly. Our guide trips have been going out daily and everyone has been impressed with numbers of fish. The average size of fish has been very impressive lately too. There have been two monster rainbows that have been teasing several local fly fisherman, and anyone coming here on vacation will be welcome to give it a shot! Tight lines everyone….get out and enjoy what the outdoors has to offer.
